The extremely rigorous measures taken by the Chinese authorities to suppress the Covid-19 pandemic have definitely canceled the F1 race in this country for 2023 as well.

The organizers of the Chinese Grand Prix had hoped that for the first time since 2019 the fastest circus would be able to return to the most populated country in the world, but this is not possible given the rules that are current in the country. At this moment, there are again 23 races on the calendar for 2023, and possible replacements are being considered.

According to current plans, there is currently a four-week break in the F1 calendar for next year from the beginning to the end of April and it is not known whether another race will be inserted between the Australian Grand Prix and the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. The first favorite for a place in the calendar is the Portuguese circuit Portimao.
