The Japanese capital Tokyo will host the next World Athletics Championship (WC), which will be held in 2025, the World Athletics Federation (IAAF) confirmed today.

The decision was made at the meeting in the American city of Eugene, where the annual gathering of the world’s best athletes begins today. Tokyo defeated Kenyan Nairobi, Singapore and Polish Silesia in the battle for the role of organizer.
