An earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale struck western Georgia tonight, the National Seismic Monitoring Center said.

The epicenter of the earthquake was seven kilometers east of the town of Ozurgeti, which is the center of the Guria region, reports Interfax.

The earthquake occurred at a depth of five kilometers. For now, there is no information about victims or material damage
