The gas leak in Sweden’s exclusive economic zone is no longer visible, the Swedish coast guard said, after monitoring the area on Thursday and Friday.
Officials said Wednesday that bubbles of gas could still be seen coming out of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, creating ripples in the water about 10 meters in diameter.
At the end of September, the pipelines were damaged in explosions in four places, two in Swedish waters and two in Danish waters.
t is believed to be sabotage and an investigation has been opened. The incident occurred at a time of high tensions between the European Union and Russia over the war in Ukraine.
Danish authorities announced earlier this month that they do not believe gas is still flowing from parts of the pipeline in their exclusive economic zone.
Russia rejects accusations that it is responsible for the damage to the pipeline and wants to be included in the investigation.
