The coffin containing the Queen’s body is scheduled to be in the Houses of Parliament in Westminster Hall until 10:45am local time (11:45am our time) and then be transferred by carriage to Westminster Abbey, which is located in the nearby, in accompanied by King Charles III and senior members of the royal family.
It will be one of the biggest and most complex events on British soil since the Second World War, with US President Joseph Biden topping the list of statesmen arriving from around the world.
The funeral will be shown in parks, squares and cinemas across the UK, the government has confirmed.
