Here’s how many BILLIONS OF POUNDS SHOULD BE CHANGED that have the face of Elizabeth II

rom a new face on banknotes and stamps to the lyrics to the national anthem, Britain will see some changes following the death of Queen Elizabeth II and the arrival of her son Charles III.

So the words of the British national anthem, which dates back to the 18th century, will be changed to read “God save the king” instead of “God save the queen”.

The new coins and banknotes will now feature the king’s head, while the old ones featuring the queen will remain in circulation until they are replaced.

There are 4.5 billion pounds of the Queen’s effigy in circulation, with a total value of 80 billion pounds. When the latest synthetic £50 notes were issued, the withdrawal and replacement process at the Bank of England took 16 months.
