The new offside technology will reduce the offside decision time from 70 seconds to just 25 seconds, and will complement VAR, which will be used for all other contested situations. It is a system with 12 cameras and a sensor in the ball, which will send 500 data per second and determine exactly when the ball is kicked, and the cameras will register the possible offside with 100% synchronization and quickly make a decision.

The technology was already used at the Arab Cup and Club World Cup as a pilot project before it was approved.
